encasedIT - IT Management Portal
Background
Developed by Gary Walker’s WG Advisory in partnership with Perry Group, encasedIT (affectionately known as the portal) is used by IT leaders in municipalities of varying sizes and scales as a management tool to oversee and manage the most important aspects of their IT programs.
encasedIT is a cloud-based, security and privacy first, fully browser based app, that is easy to use, with an unlimited use enterprise license model.
Built originally to help our consulting teams conduct assessments and develop strategies and programs, Perry Group now offers the platform to help clients actively manage their own strategy and ongoing programs including security, risk management and business continuity .
Core encasedIT capabilities
In each of these areas encasedIT provides tools to assess and benchmark current state, define the desired and realistic target state, and develop programs and action plans to increase maturity. encasedIT also features re-assessment tools to enable active monitoring of progress, as well as visual reporting to present progress toward the target state to stakeholders.
Perry Group’s MTM model is built into encasedIT to allow municipalities to actively manage their overall architecture - and communicate progress.

Application/System Catalog
The application and systems catalog sits behind the architecture, linking every element in the architecture to the systems that support it. The inventory tracks all systems and solutions in operation - as well as key details about them, such as where it is hosted, support details, version numbers, and where the product is in the lifecycle.

Driven from the assessments, encasedIT can be used to plan and layout actions to improve maturity, identify and plan projects, build roadmaps, and establish strategic project portfolios.
Monitoring Progress
By baselining, and then conducting re-assessments, progress against strategic goals and increased maturity can be easily mapped, visualized and communicated.

Having a platform like encasedIT to develop and manage our Business Continuity strategy has allowed the County of Essex to streamline processes that support the integrity of the program.
